The "Romans Road"  to Salvation

Romans 3:23 says:
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
We all were born with sin and have sin in our hearts. We were born under the power of sin's control.

STEP 1: Admit that you are a sinner.

Romans 6:23a says:
"For the wages of sin is death,..."
Sin results in death. We all face physical death, which is a result of sin. But spiritual death is a worse death because it alienates us from God and will last throughout eternity.
The Bible teaches that there is a Lake of Fire where people who are spiritually lost will be in torment forever.

STEP 2: Understand that you deserve death for your sin.

Romans 5:8 says:
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
When Jesus died on the cross He paid the penalty for sin.  He paid the universal price for all sin, and when He took all the sins of the world upon Himself at the cross, He bought us out of slavery to sin and death, under the condition that we believe in Him and what He has done for us.

STEP 3: Give your life to God. His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is your only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love redeemed you from being a slave to sin. Only HIS love can save you. Not religion, not church membership. God loves you and reaches out to touch you right where you are.

Romans 6:23b says:
"...but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Salvation is a free gift from God to YOU. You can't earn this gift, but you must reach out and receive it.

STEP 4: Understand that God has already provided for your salvation. Ask God to forgive you and save you.

Romans 10:9,10 says:
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

STEP 5: If you sense that God is knocking on your heart door, ask Him to come into your heart.

What about you?  Are YOU ready for the next step?
